Hello everyone.
Ad Skjult is actually my stage name, which I gave myself after a lot of thought.
Ad is short for Adrian and Skjult means “Hidden, Covered”. The reason why I chose this name is simple. I always wanted to make music in the background, where no one knows me and can discover me. It may be that I used to be shy and simply afraid, but today I completely stand by my stage name.
I was born on June 12, 1972 in Basel, Switzerland, and spent a wonderful childhood, often in the wilderness. I have 3 sisters and the best mom in the world. Unfortunately, I didn't have much contact with my father, who died two years ago.
My main job is to own a construction business, which I founded over 20 years ago.
It was clear to me early on that I wanted to do something with music at some point, as I've always been particularly passionate about film music.
A long friendship accompanied me from childhood to adulthood, a musician who showed me the world of orchestral music. He was a violin virtuoso, played the piano and grand piano and at the same time, despite his age, he was always open to new styles of music.
Unfortunately he died far too early. I still remember very well a sentence of his that stuck with me, a sentence that was also the trigger for me to start composing.

Today I live very close to where I grew up, work all over Switzerland, and spend many free minute composing music.
